GSDI is the premier German Shepherd breed club in Idaho. We are a resource, support and training group for German Shepherd Dog enthusiasts in Idaho and the surrounding region. Our main training facility is in Greenleaf, Idaho in Canyon County, but we sometimes meet and train at other places in the Treasure Valley. We actively work with our dogs in Tracking, Obedience, & Protection, and show in SV “German Style” conformation. We are advocates for responsible ownership and breeding practices of the German Shepherd Dog, and promote Schutzhund sport and the Breed Survey as an evaluation of correct temperament of the German Shepherd. GSDI was organized in 2001 to meet the needs of GSD owners and to educate the public about this exceptional breed. While some of our members have an extensive history with the breed others are new to the sport of Schutzhund and the German dogs. We always welcome new faces to our training sessions and seminars.
GSDI is a member of Region 9, the Northwestern region, of the national organization German Shepherd Dog Club of America-Working Dog Association, and abides by the by-laws and guidelines set forth by GSDCA-WDA. We host various events throughout the year including training seminars, schutzhund trials, SV style conformation shows, and Breed Surveys. We are committed to our dogs and dog sports. |
